A precision organisation developed over the years

The veal sector is organised around three autonomous and complementary stages: the collection and batching of newly-born calves by Sicarev, the production of beef calves by Vitagro, a Sicarev subsidiary responsible for fattening, and finally slaughtering by Tradival.

 

A specialist in the integration of calves, Vitagro is central to the industry. Its technical expertise coupled with a rigorous production schedule, based on the calves’ programmed arrival and exit from the farms, assures the breeders that they are engaged in an organised, controlled, competitive and dynamic production chain.

Vitagro’s sector is organised around two activities: the fattening of veal calves and grain calves, a unique sector in France, and the breeding of weaned calves intended for the production of young cattle, in France or for export.

 

Breeders are thus offered a win-win contract: that of integrated production. Vitagro provides the animals, the feed, technical support, veterinary products, and services. As for the farmer, they provide the labour, housing, straw, water, energy, and animal care.
